The girls reported to AAHWAN on 9th Jan for a 3 day workshop. They met Mrs Nidhi Dimri Chairperson of AAHWAN . She showed them the different sections and suggested that they go to the sections and interact with the ladies working there.
The students split into two groups and decided to go to the painting and stitching section.
Pavani and Monisha in the painting section imparted basic knowledge of colour wheel and colour schemes. They also taught them about Elements and Principles of design. They produced samples which were later made into full fledged products.
The girls who went to the stitching section taught the ladies braiding and helped them use scraps of fabric for producing patchwork bags. The girls also suggested making sling bags and messenger bags in addition to totes.
The outcome of the workshop was good and the students were excited about implementing their knowledge into practical products.

Nine students and the faculty members were involved in the project. Certain parameters like colour, and comfort were kept in mind while designing the uniforms. The students also visited the CMP office in Bangalore to look at their band dress and discuss the uniform requirements with the band personnel. Some of the feedback received included :-
>> 3 sets are given for 3 years
>> Laundry done by launderer after every performance
>> Duration of performance – 3-4 hours
>> Buttons and epaulettes and other insignia detachable
>> Fabric should be crease resistant
>> Should have pockets in jackets to keep ID card
